Debra's Quest for the Number 3 - Baskets 3

March 17, 2011

The quest goes on ....

Most of us have a variety of baskets in different shapes and sizes.  We buy them and receive them as gifts filled with flowers and food.  I have them on shelves and hanging on the walls of my china closet.  One rectangular basket inspired centerpiece ideas and a number of uses.

  • Bread basket:  line with a decorative towel, fill with a selection of breads and place on a buffet table
  • Towels:  use to hold individual hand towels for a party
  • Silverware:  wrap utensils in napkins and place in the basket on your buffet table or side board
  • Chips:  a great piece to hold chips, nacho, popcorn etc.
  • Pine cones:  fill with interesting pine cones in different shapes and sizes for the holidays
  • Shells:  add shells and insert pillar candles for an easy summer centerpiece
  • Ornaments:  select holiday greens and bright colored holiday ornaments for a quick and easy mantle or table decoration
  • Toiletries:  a great way to leave a selection of lotion, soap, shampoo, conditioner and other toiletries for visiting guests
  • Children's party:  fill with sand (line the basket with a piece of plastic) and stick a collection of fun colorful lollipops in different shapes and sizes
  • Condiments: great for a barbecue - fill with bottles of mustards, ketchup, barbecue sauces etc.
